Commission of Short Cycle Press (SCP) for melamine faced chipboard production. Official signing on the investment of RM 156 million for the production of Line 3, Gebeng, Kuantan, Malaysia, the largest single Chipboard plant in Asia, using leading technology from Siempelkamp.

2002
Upgraded from ISO 9002:2000 Quality Management System to ISO 9001 : 2000. Successfully produced E0 grade low formaldehyde emission chipboard which comply to the JIS A 5908 standard.

Commissioning of Line 4, Kechau Tui (Kuala Lipis), Pahang, Malaysia with leading technology from Dieffenbacher. Commercialised production of Super E0 particleboard as F-4 Star Grade in Japan.

Accreditation of BS EN ISO14001:1996.

Third plant in Kechau Tui, Kuala Lipis – accreditation of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 & MS ISO9001:2000. Accreditation of OHSAS Health Safety Management System 18001:1999. Official inaugration of Line 4, Kechau Tui (Kuala Lipis), Pahang officiated by DPM, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Abd. Razak. Joint Venture agreement with Mtushita Electrical Works Ltd, Japan to undertake research and production of KENAF Fibreboard. Award NPC National 5S Award from National Productivity Corporation, Kuala Lumpur.

Accreditation of CARB II Certificate of Conformity (California Air Resources Board) for low formaldehyde emission boards. First JIS Mark A5908:2005 accredited by GBRC, Japan at both MIECO Gebeng and Kuala Lipis plant.

Accreditation of ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system by AJA EQS Certification, an integration from single ISO to Integration of ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. Accreditation of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. Upgraded from BS EN ISO 9001:2000 & MS ISO9001:2000 to QMS ISO 9001:2008. Accreditation of PEFC-COC ST 2002:2010 (Programme for Endorsement of Forest-Chain of Custody) Standard.
